Instituto Superior Spanish School - Spanish classes in the Amazon Jungle Ecuador South America

The Amazon Jungle Spanish Course is one of the most interesting programs for the tourist in Ecuador. The Amazon rainforest covers a sizeable part of Eastern Ecuador, and is one of the primary ecological hot spots in the world (map of Ecuador).

Our partner for this program, Yarina Eco-Lodge, is strategically located in an area of forest that boasts the highest diversity of microhabitats in the Napo area. This means that there are more species of animals, birds, reptiles and insects than anywhere else in the Amazon province of Napo. The lodge is a member of the Yuturi Conservation Group; an organization involved in rainforest conservation projects.

The ISE Amazon Spanish course enables students the opportunity to be immersed in a truly wild and exotic location, whilst maintaining at least some of the comforts of home provided by the high standards of Yarina Lodge.

Students will travel to the lodge from near Coca in a dug out motorized canoe, where they will spend a glorious week enjoying the sights and the sounds of the forest. Spanish classes are held in the morning, the normal four hours, and then the afternoons are filled with jungle adventure, from treks to indigenous medicine; students will experience the way of the jungle and the traditional practices of the local people.

The excursions provided are the same as those you may expect from any jungle tour operator, so with our program you can create extra value for your time in Ecuador, killing two "toucans" with one stone, so to speak! Ideal for the time pressed traveler.

An ISE teacher will accompany the students for the duration of this trip. The day before departure, students and teachers meet at the school in Quito to acquaint themselves and to go over the trip plans.

1) Flight ticket Quito - Coca - Quito (optional). US $ 45.- each way

I can whole heartedly recommend your language school Instituto Superior de Español. The concept of learning Spanish while travelling is superb and your organizational talent in working out individual itineraries is admirable! For some spoilt visitors from rich countries it might be hard to fit in with an Ecuadorian family, but it gives a unique opportunity to learn more about the country than the superficial impressions usually granted to tourists.
Many thanks to you, your team and the host families for the courtesy, patience and good humor which made my trip so enjoyable!
I can also recommend the very friendly and comfortable jungle lodge and rafting or kayaking excursions who's safety standards were better than some European organizations I have encountered.
