To fully appreciate the variety that Ecuador provides, we offer our students the choice of six distinct locations / Spanish schools in Ecuador in which to study. Our aim is to allow students to fully enjoy and appreciate the cultural and scenic variety, which Ecuador has to offer through flexible and varied Spanish Language programs.
Our Spanish courses stretch from the vibrant capital of Quito, to the bustling handicraft Indigenous town of Otavalo. You can head 1000km across the Pacific to the rugged beauty and confident wildlife of the Galapagos, or perhaps slip down the Eastern slopes into the dazzling beauty of the Amazon. A fifth opportunity is to study on an organic farming Hacienda amongst the towering peaks of the Andes, or why not incorporate all areas and more with our Travelling Program, taking you down the Avenue of the Volcanoes and into the Amazon Jungle. We have, without doubt, something for everyone.
Our method of tracking your learning progress on a weekly basis allows you to continue making steady improvements with your Spanish despite changes in location. The following are the different levels of Spanish instruction to choose from. To place yourself in any level after Elementary, it is wise to have first graduated from the prior level.
ELEMENTARY SPANISH - LEVEL
Designed for students with no previous knowledge of Spanish, this course emphasizes oral communication in a variety of topics at a basic level. The focus is on learning absolutely necessary grammar, i.e. numbers, regular and irregular verbs in present tense and simple forms of future, speaking and listening skills, basic and learning about Ecuadorian culture. Students practice greetings, asking questions, making requests, and understanding the most frequently used regular and irregular verbs.
INTERMEDIATE SPANISH - LEVEL
This course emphasizes self-expression through conversing and listening in Spanish. Students acquire an assortment of valuable and practical language tools that increases their ability to enjoy every-day activities in any Spanish-speaking country. For example, students expand their vocabulary, strengthen their understanding of different verb tenses, including the paste tenses, pronouns, comparatives, commands; and improve their ability to use pronouns and prepositions. Upon completing this level students can start and finish their own conversations on specified topics.
ADVANCED SPANISH - LEVEL
This course reviews what the student has already learned; continue grammar with future tense and conditional forms expands on her/his knowledge of Spanish. Skills are strengthened and further developed by emphasizing speaking, listening, reading aloud and comprehending, grammar and conversing about a wide range of topics. The course focuses on development of oral fluency and vocabulary.
SUPERIOR SPANISH - LEVEL
Complete with all subjunctive tenses, you will learn to relate subjunctive tenses with indicative tenses. Literature, letters, commercial compositions and Spanish skills for different professions. The aim of this course is to speak like a native with realistic conversations that cover any topic, that is, acquiring the ability to "keep the conversation moving" in an intelligent, interesting and friendly manner. Lessons often take a free form, allowing both the instructor to help the student fill specific "gaps" in vocabulary and grammar as they naturally arise. This fluid approach meets the needs of advanced students, including use of idioms and complex sentences in a flowing, natural fashion. As appropriate, instructors create authentic social situations that demand that students actively participate in authentically communicating, expressing and discussing their own needs, interests and personal opinions about a wide range of issues and topics.
At advanced levels, we offer specialized courses (Curso Especial), such as business Spanish, literature, Latin American history and vocabulary classes with special focus, for example: medicine, law etc.

I can whole heartedly recommend your language school Instituto Superior de Español. The concept of learning Spanish while travelling
is superb and your organizational talent in working out individual itineraries is admirable! For some spoilt visitors from rich countries
it might be hard to fit in with an Ecuadorian family, but it gives a unique opportunity to learn more about the country than the superficial impressions usually granted to tourists.

I can also recommend the very friendly and comfortable jungle lodge and rafting or kayaking excursions who's safety standards were better
