The first Instituto Superior de Español Spanish School was developed in the 80´s and remains in its original location in Quito, Ecuador 's capital city, as ISE headquarters. The Quito school is a renovated colonial-style house equipped with free Internet, library, video room, fireplace, laundry, storage room, barbeque, and a common room for breaks.
Be sure to ask about free airport pick up.

Also when you take a Spanish course with ISE you will receive the following International I.D discount card useful for discounts in various museums, and on other tourist services, for example flights, tours etc, within Ecuador.

Location

Quito, Ecuador's capital is situated at 2800m in the Andean valley that stretches the length of South America, from Columbia to Patagonia; to the west of Quito towers the majestic Volcano Pichincha, a sleeping giant, that humbles and inspires on a daily basis.

Our neighborhood is home to a vibrant food and artisan market and is filled with a variety of small restaurants and stores serving local delicacies and selling a random collection of merchandise. Conveniently located, students can access the north (airport, 10 minutes) or the south (colonial city, 15 minutes) of Quito with ease from the 10 de Agosto Trolley bus stop just 1 minute walk from our front door.

Just another 10-minute walk north is the famed Mariscal, a lively center for tourists with bars, restaurants, shops and clubs to rival any capital; there is something for everyone from Salsa clubs to homely English pubs and the city squares often host live local music over the week-end.

"New Quito", or the North of the city, with its modern office buildings and malls is a huge contrast to "Old Quito", the south, noted for its magnificent colonial architecture, museums, old churches, theatres and open plazas, where the spirit of Latin city life is traditional and omnipresent. The colors and charm of our friendly city are the result of both our Spanish roots and pre Incan cultures that continue to thrive in Ecuador.

Free Time

Free-time activities are numerous in Quito whether hiking up Gua Gua Pichincha, or taking the easy route on the cable car, there is something for everyone. The Old Town boasts some exciting cultural activities over weekends and also boasts numerous museums to visit, from Pre-Incan gold collections to Guayasamin's world-renowned artwork, there is never a dull moment. With many bars and restaurants local to the school, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy some quality time with your newfound student friends.
During the week we organize cooking classes, free salsa lessons, and other mini trips, including Spanish cinema and local museums.

A one week spanish course starts from justUS$89 per person. Click here to view course options for the Quito Spanish School.

Dear Eugenio Cordova,

I can whole-heartedly recommend your language school www.instituto-superior.net. The concept of learning Spanish while traveling is superb and your organizational talent in working out individual itineraries is admirable! For some spoilt visitors from rich countries it might be hard to fit in with an Ecuadorian family, but it gives a unique opportunity to learn more about the country than the superficial impressions usually granted to tourists.
Many thanks to you, your team and the host families for the courtesy, patience and good humor, which made my trip so enjoyable!

I can also recommend the very friendly and comfortable jungle lodge and rafting or kayaking excursions whose safety standards were better than some European organizations I have encountered.
